Reply with quote | #1 | I have a hard copy of the original Audio Reality. Is the phono preamp schematic the same as the unit that Bruce currently sells? If not, how do I latch on to a copy? |

No it is not the same. Bruce uses the 6c45pi tube instead of the 6922 tube he used in the Audio Reality version. |

Reply with quote | #3 | So, does that mean the "new and improved" phono preamp schematic is not available to purchase? |

Reply with quote | #4 | I'll accept the lack of responses as a"no", there is not a schematic available. I must purchase the kit or assembled unit. So perhaps someone could answer the question, "why?" The phono pre design in Audio Reality does not work. What makes the production unit so special? |

Reply with quote | #5 | Well Bruce is in the business to sell equipment. I can't help with a schematic either. I own one, picked up used on Audiogone. I brought mine down to Ed Schilling's Horn Shoppe party this summer. We spent a lot of time listening to vinyl. This is the quietest, most dynamic tube phono I've ever heard. For awhile we had it hooked up with a Grounded Grid, SE-OTL, and Ed's Model 3 speakers. We were listening through the system ... wide soundstage, lots of depth, neutral, and quiet. Yes it is something special.
Steve
PS: Taking a piece of tube gear on a plane to visit Ed was unique. TSA doesn't understand tube audio! |

Reply with quote | #6 | SeanW: I too find the TS phono preamp very good, mine is mounted in the same enclosure ad the GG with both power supplies in another case. I use a step up trany for my moving coil. Takes about 20 mins for the GG an phono to come in to focus from a cold start. steve f: I do not understand what you mean by "TSA doesn't understand tube audio!". I mean that I do not believe TSA stuff is the best but I am pretty sure Bruce knows what he is doing.

Reply with quote | #8 | Paul, Our friend CB got it right. The airport screeners kept running my luggage back and forth through the machine. I had to explain what I had in my luggage. Steve |
