Last weekend I went along to a gathering of fellow audio enthusiasts in 'sunny' Yorkshire, England. The event was organised by the UK-based Audio-Talk forum, of which I am a long standing member. Some of you may recall that it was through Audio-Talk that the special DHT filament supplies that Wolfgang and I use in our 300B SE-OTL builds were developed.
I took my scratch built 300B SE-OTLs which, despite their limited power, were considered by the attendees to be one of the highlights of the event and their performance was quite a talking point. Here's a blog about the event (my amps and I feature about 80% of the way through and, as you'll see, there were also a Minibeast and SOB in attendance, which also both performed well, so some kudos for Transcendent); http://simonsnewadventuresinhifi.blogspot.co.uk/2017/06/audio-meet-owston-10th-june-2017.html We also hosted an American chap, also named Ray, who just happens to be on stay in the UK at the moment as part of his retirement travels and he has also produced a blog about the event; http://ratbagp.blogspot.co.uk/2017/06/owston-visit-to-diy-audio-land.html Ray

Looked like a real fun meeting, Ray.
Wonderful contrast between 'Tower of Power" and your beautifully crafted 300B SE. I had thought I was keeping the UK retail tube market alive single handed, but, looking at your gold 300B boxes, I am no longer so sure. The view of the Owston car park gives me the same feeling I am getting looking out of my Glasgow apartment this June morning. Then perhaps, as an ex Lancastrian, I may be just a little biased. Thanks for a great post. Kelvin

Great idea, Ray, to post it here.
The audio-talk forum is a good place for getting ideas for modifications, improvements, or just for learning about what's out there. Nice knowledgeable people sharing their ideas about audio in a relaxed way.
