Sorry, yet another MP as a HP amp question...

1) Does the kit come with everything needed (except tubes)?

2) Are the instructions pretty straight forward? I've built a Bottlehead Crack, and soon a Bottlehead Mainline. I'm pretty good at going slow and following instructions, and I can solder pretty well, but I'm just following instructions.

I miss Heathkit :-)

A 300b based headphone amp intrigues me. A company called EleKit makes one, but it's significantly more expensive than the Masterpiece. Has anyone compared the MP as a headphone amp to other 300b based headphone amps? There aren't many out there, and they are pretty expensive (except one cheap ChiFi crap amp).

Thanks,

Allan

1). Yes, it is a complete kit, just add your own tubes.

2). Instructions are very clear, not so much 'hold your hand' as Bottlehead but everything is there.

Just to be clear, the Masterpiece IS a headphone amp (& pre-amp), not 'as' which indicates changing it to something it was not designed to do.

And you get a proper chassis too, not a plate & some bits of wood[smile].
