Can a volume control be wired into these amps

Yes.  You should probably use shielded cable if you mount the control on the front panel.

A quality passive attenuator is quite inexpensive.  Which would allow for an active preamp later.

They have a new one on the drawing board that  also has an optional active stage, and with their with their  LED volume control. The LDR300X. I plan a Pinnacle with that.

Just curious, have you considered pairing a Masterpiece with the Pinnacle?

From Tortuga "Hear the music not the hardware"...certainly a lot of hardware in those pictures.  Something romantic about point to point wiring using only a handful of components and tubes to build a pre-amp; I believe only then (with the right circuit) you truly hear the music and not the hardware.

Has anybody on the forum coupled the MP with the Pinnacle? Or is that too  much of 300Bs? The MP could use Tortuga's new mini LED gain, which just needs 6V.

Auto-formers? Say Intact Elma  47 Posn. for Pinnacle,  ie 2 monos at 500$ each. Pricey, maybe, but  not when we're trying to clean up the signal. These need no power source like the Tortuga LED, and reputed to be quieter than Django TVC, which need interconnects.. so more signal loss.

My friend Kelvin had a MP and Pinnacle (and SOB and Mini-Beast).  I would say that there is no reason not to go for that combination (no problem of 'too much 300b').  On his speakers, we thought that there wasn't a great deal of difference between MP/Pinnacle and MP/SOB or MP/Mini-Beast, or least not as much difference as there was between those combos and any of those power amps + Grounded Grid (which still sounded wonderful of course).  The speakers were a weak link, however, and in this apartment and listening room we could not 'crank it'.  I suspect the advantages of the Pinnacle might be more pronounced with better speakers and listening room.
